The number one killer of women is heart disease. And every year more than 460,000 women die from this largely preventable disease. National Wear Red Day is a day to recognize the women who have died from this disease, to build awareness of the statistics, and to encourage all women to make a choice to beat heart disease.
One of Urban Eats key missions is to promote a healthy eating and life style in the urban community. Heart disease is totally preventable by changing eating and life style. And Urban Eats wants to make a tangible difference.
So when we found out about Go Red For Women, the American Heart Association’s initiative to build awareness and raise funds towards the cause of women and heart disease, we immediately realized it was a campaign we wanted to fully embrace.
Support the cause by wearing red and donating $25 or more to support the science and research of the American Heart Association that benefits all women, men and children. Or, wear red and come dine with us tomorrow and any days after.
Urban Eats will donate 10% of your bill to the cause on Friday 2/5/10, and 5% every each day after. Just mention "Go Red for Women" when you check out!
